Hyperswap allows liquidity providers to modify their existing positions through a simple process called Edit Position. This feature helps users adjust their price range, reinvest earnings, or realign their strategy without having to manually remove and recreate positions.
What Is an Edited Position?
When you provide liquidity to a pool, your funds are allocated within a specific price range. Over time, market movements can shift the active trading range, making your position inactive or less efficient. Editing a position allows you to update this range, reuse your existing funds, and optimize for new conditions.
How It Works
When you use the Edit Position feature, Hyperswap performs the following actions in one transaction:
- Closes your current position and withdraws the underlying tokens.
- Optionally collects fees earned from trading activity or auto-compound them.
- Optionally swaps tokens if needed to match the new position requirements.
- Mints a new position using the updated price range and liquidity allocation.
- Returns any remaining tokens to your wallet.
All of this is handled automatically, so you don’t need to interact with each step manually.
When to Edit a Position
You might want to edit your position if:
- The market price has moved outside of your current range.
- You want to change the width of your range (wider for stability, narrower for higher yield).
- You want to reinvest earned fees into your position.
- You’re adjusting your position based on updated strategies or market conditions.
Requirements
Before editing a position for the first time, you must grant permission for Hyperswap to manage your position NFT. This is a one-time approval that allows the smart contract to operate on your behalf.
Fees and Token Handling
Hyperswap doesn't charge a fee during the edit process. If token amounts need to be rebalanced for the new range, Hyperswap can automatically swap between tokens using predefined routing logic. You are not required to manage these swaps manually.
